Tobacco Gantry Replace & Refresh

This project covered a range of services, from storage and manufacture pick, pack & distribution, to delivery, installation, project management and aftercare. Taking place across two years, Melita POS created and executed a meticulous project management plan that saw over 3,000 tobacco gantries of varying sizes being installed in supermarkets across the UK.

The brief

Replace and refresh of tobacco gantries in thousands of supermarket stores across the UK.

Completed the design of unitary for widths of 1.2m, 1.5m and 2.4m units, using in-house expertise.

The build

Over 3,000 tobacco gantries were installed across a two-year period, with work completed by five dedicated on-road teams.

Effective project management ensured timely installations, daily reporting, post-install checks, and swift issue resolution within 24-48 hours.
